Our Teachers & Staff

Beverlee Weston, Director & Kindergarten

Ms. Bev is the director of the Milford Mill CDC. She returned to teaching here in 2009 after a 32-year hiatus teaching in Baltimore City Public Schools. Originally, Ms. Bev started out as a Kindergarten student. Later, she became an Aide and Extended Care Program Assistant. She served in this role for over 5 years, until she completed her degree at Towson University in January 1977. When she isn't busy touring prospective families, working with administration, or teaching, you can often find her writing and editing, "The Center Page," a newsletter for the center.

Ms. Bev serves on the Milford Mill Church Child Development Center Board; is a member of the Judy Center Board, where she coordinates part-time care for some of the children; and represents the CDC on the Milford Mill UMC Board. Additionally, Ms. Bev enjoys taking continuing education courses through the Child Care Centers of Metropolitan Baltimore.

For her family, the CDC is a family affair. Not only is Ms. Bev a proud graduate of our program, but so are her two children, and her grandson is currently enrolled.

Barbara Kays, Co-Director

Ms. Barbara joined the staff at Milford Mill Church CDC in the fall of 1979. She became the Director of the center in June 2008. Although she is semi-retired, Ms. Barbara is currently serving as the Co-Director.

Ms. Barbara serves on the Milford Mill Church Child Development Center Board, and enjoys taking continuing education courses through the Child Care Centers of Metropolitan Baltimore. She prides herself on providing students with a safe, kind, and educationally sound environment.

Bridget Brown, Kindergarten

Mrs. Bridget joined our staff in November 1989 at the invitation of the 2nd Director. She currently teaches in our Kindergarten class, and has pioneered a Geography class for the Pre-K and Kindergartners, inspired by the diversity in the CDC.

Mrs. Bridget has a degree in Child Development from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University). She also has a certificate in commercial art from an accredited state school.

Mrs. Bridget's own children graduated from our center, as did her first grandchild.

Susan Vein, 2's

Mrs. Susan is our Lead Teacher in the 2's classroom. She prides herself on creating a safe, welcoming, and educationally rich environment.

Ginger Steiger, 3's

Ms. Ginger joined the staff in September 1996 with many years of experience at another center. By 1999, she was the Lead Teacher for the 3's, and has stayed there ever since (even though she has her Infant and Toddler Certification). You can find Ms. Ginger as the "Early Bird" opening up each morning at 7:30 am for our Morning Extended Care Program.

In addition to her classroom duties, Ms. Ginger is our Music Teacher. In her "spare" time, she teaches in the summer camp program at McDonough.

Nancy Culver, 2's, 3's, 4's, Kindergarten

Ms. Nancy joined our staff in 1994. Her primary role over the years has been as an assistant teacher in multiple classrooms: 2's, 3's, and 4's. Currently, Ms. Nancy is the Lead Teacher in the mixed age afternoon class. She also is very patient and works well 1-on-1 with students with special needs. If you stop by during extended care hours, you might find her leading arts and crafts.

Ms. Nancy is a responsible and conscientious person who works well with children of all ages. She completed her 45 hour Infant and Toddler course in 2019.

Veronica Barnes

Ms. Veronica joined our staff in March 2011. Currently, she serves as a Lead Teacher in the Afternoon Extended Care Program. You may also find her floating through all age classrooms in the afternoons.

Ms. Veronica works well with children of all ages and enjoys her continuing education and credentialing classes.

Laura Foxworth, Pre-K

Mrs. Foxworth started her career with children right here at MMCDC while attending high school. She returns to us with many years of experience working with infants through school age children in the public and private sector.

Tess DeAntoniis, Aide

Ms. Tess joined our staff in September 2010 after more than 20 years of experience at Holy Family Catholic School. You can find Ms. Tess in the kitchen; she is our day-to-day cook! She plans the meals and purchases the food. Ms. Tess substitutes and works in our Extended Care Program.

Melinda Downes, Directors' Assistant

Ms. Melinda has served our staff longer than anyone else! Currently, you can find her helping wherever she is needed--even if that means restocking bathrooms! Give her a hearty "hello" when you see her around!
